The Coronavirus Chronicle #2

Protection and Preparation

Many ask, “How do I protect myself from this thing?” There are tons of answers: masks, staying home, washing hands…etc. Lots wear masks, but is that really helpful?

Again, two people had different perspectives. Margarita said,”No, you don’t need to wear masks, we’re already staying home!” That’s very true, since pretty much the whole world is on lockdown right now. No one is really going out except for grocery stores, hospitals, etc. Basically all the things you need. Dmitry, however, answered differently. “The proper mask,” he states, “also called N95/P95 class mask, reduces risks. But it looks scary and it needs change every 2-3 hours in order to have good protection.” Dmitry is also correct, but although those types of masks help prevent illness, they don’t look too appealing to one’s eye.

Both Margarita and Dmitry answered alike to a question ‘Was it a wise decision to put lockdown?’ They said, yes, that it was. But it was a late decision. Dmitry states, “We’re too easy-going, all of us.” It all should’ve happened sooner, but at least it’s happening now.
