Lunchtime Daydreams

Deli sandwiches, pizza, salad, hot dogs

   “Yum…” I said out loud.

“Four and sixty-eight tenths… No, hundredths!” My friend Sarah said, “What now, Diana, are you thinking about food again?!”

“What? Oh um heh-heh,” I snapped out of my trance. “Yeah, I guess so.”

“It’s okay, just try to focus more on math,”

Just then, Mrs. Kim said that it was time for… wait for it… lunch! Yay! It was also nice and sunny outside so we could have outdoor recess!

Later, In the lunchroom, I was standing in the line for bosco sticks and Sarah was right behind me. I could already smell the yummy bosco sticks.

When we were already finishing our food, the lunch ladies said it was time for recess, so we happily went outside through the double doors of the cafeteria. When it was recess, you see, all of the kids were competing to get to the playground faster, including me and Sarah. It was beautiful outside too, the perfect weather for racing to the spinny-thing. I got there first, so I got a head start at spinning myself.

“Whee!” I shouted out in enjoyment.

Suddenly, I heard a voice over me.

“You know, you’re not going fast at all. Let me spin you!”

   I recognized the voice: Sarah.

Then the world began to spin wildly.

“Aah!!!” I yelled now in fear that I was going to fall off. “help!”

Sarah smiled as she stopped me.

“That was so funny,” My friend said, “you should’ve seen your face!”

“Yeah right,” I muttered as I stepped off.

Then, to my own surprise, I started laughing.

“You know what. That actually was kind of funny!” I agree.

  We continue spinning each other.

Later, she laughs with me as we walk off the playground and into the school.

Hi. I like eggs.
