Chapter 3: A new encounter

Something had awakened Luna when she was asleep in the alley. A…pop? She’d heard it through her sleep, and now awake, wondered what it could be.

Perhaps it was just a lone squirrel…or something more?

POP!

There! She’d heard it once more. Louder. She turned to look in the direction of the sound but found nothing but darkness. What had made that noise? No, who had made that noise?

 Another pop.

Huh? Luna rubbed her eyes to make sure that she heard right. Once her vision was clear, she looked in the direction of the pop once more.

Instead of just darkness, there was now a small man about her size standing on the ground beside her. What was he doing here? Was he lost?

She also took the time to notice that he seemed to have dark circles under his green eyes and was wearing a formal black suit. Maybe there was a party he was late for nearby. On the other hand, why would one host a party at three AM? Or, possibly two AM. Luna wasn’t sure since she didn’t own a watch nor have a clock in her alley.

The little man stared at her, and she did the same to him. What was going on?

The person coughed and said, “Hello, Pri-uh- Lunamora,”

Luna was confused. Who is Lunamora? She took a few more moments to stare at the man, and then asked, “Er- are you referring to me?” Then she decided to add, “My name isn’t Lunamora, it’s Luna.”

The man looked at her with raised eyebrows. “No, you’re definitely Lunamora,” he says.

 “N-no, I don’t believe I am who you’re looking for.”

The person reached his hand in his pocket. He fumbles in the pocket for quite a while, then pulling out what seemed like a torn picture.

He shows it to her.

Luna stares at the picture, which contained a man, woman, and herself when she was little. A family portrait.

“Now tell me this isn’t you,” The man seems to be in a hurry.

“This…yes, it’s me. Are those people my parents?”

 “Duh!”

He stuffs the photo back in his ginormous pocket.

“Listen, you have a sister, and it’s time you finally met her. She sent me here herself to pick you up. I am Gerald, by the way.”

“Oh, but that’s just unfair! How come she never lived with me, then?” Luna was surprised and taken aback.

“Well, perhaps she didn’t know you were…uh…alive…?!” He mutters sarcastically.

“That’s just ridiculous! So you’re telling me that I have a sister?”

“Yes, m’ am, and she cares about you very dearly.” Gerald raised his hands in the air. “You comin’, or am I wasting my precious time here in this disgusting alley?!”
